Tidal Energy to Electrical Energy


After a long gap I am posting a topic in my blog, as you saw the title of my post " Electrical power generation" day by day man is depending on power i.e., without power man cannot do anything so we need more power for us for future generations.
Now a days we are having different sources of electrical power generation they are by using water, wind, nuclear reactors. Let us discus about electrical power from water, thermal power station it produces electrical power from water which was converted into stream by using burning of coal which is not environment friendly production. Another form of electrical power from water is rotating the turbines at dams by releasing the river water to ocean which we are converting pure water to salt water this leads to water scarcity. What about 'wind' energy ya its an environment friendly because here we are not burning anything to pollute the air but the disadvantage with this is we need continuous strong wind which is capable to rotate the dynamo so, the continuous strong wind will occur in some places only so the electrical power developed with this not sufficient for now a day’s usage. One more alternative of electrical power development is from nuclear reactor since it is continuously generates power it is dangerous as we saw recently in Japan because of tsunami one of the nuclear reactor got damaged which made environmental pollution and to control that reactor huge money was needed which means it dangerous and not cost effective. One other form of electrical power development is from sun light / heat i.e., solar energy but one disadvantage with this is it can produce only in day time and summer it works effectively when compared to rainy and winter seasons.



Till now I have discussed about the sources of electrical power we are having today but now I will explain my idea of generation of electrical power which is cost effective, environmental friendly, not dangerous and production is 24x7 now the question is what is source that is used for production? the source is the ocean tides we that ocean tides are caused due to 'gravitational force' between 'earth and moon in the night time' and 'earth and sun in the day time' so it is available for us 24x7 now the question is how to convert the tidal energy to electrical energy here we can apply the formula used in power generation at dams i.e., first converting the river current energy to mechanical and then mechanical energy to electrical energy OK the idea is fine we know that river flow in one direction the turbines attached to it will rotate in one direction so that electrical power was developed but in the case of ocean tides it is not that tide will come towards ground and returns back to ocean so if we attach turbine it will rotate forward when tide comes and rotate in reverse direction when tide goes and one more problem with the turbine is flow of water from turbine at a fixed level but it is not in the case of ocean tide one may occur smaller and one may occur larger so fixing the turbine near ocean tide is not correct so we need other than this which will rotate in one direction and must be independent on the flow direction of the ocean tide and also independent on size of the tide i.e., whether the tide is smaller or larger it has to rotate in which direction its rotating for this I got a solution or may be an idea i.e. as we know the structure of DNA, we have to develop a turbine in that shape and we need to fix it in the ocean so that it doesn't disturbed by the ocean tide one's the turbine rotates we are successful in converting tidal energy to mechanical energy after that we are already successful in converting mechanical to electrical energy. Now you may ask how it can be a cost effective because we are already using the same formula in dams ya but here we didn't need to construct dams to store the river water etc., here we have to take care about the tsunami i.e., how it will cause and where it occur I think tsunami will majorly due to volcanoes under the sea so if we identify the place which is not much nearer to the volcanoes under the sea we are successful and if we consider India almost south India is covered by ocean so we can utilize the border of the country and one more advantage is indirectly / directly we are providing security to our country i.e. as we know that terrorist came to Mumbai through sea route and landed to India on a non port area if we arrange these power plant along the sea shore we are providing security to the country. Did you got the doubt since it is salt water iron easily rusts if the turbine with it but my idea is to prepare the turbine with wood / strong plastic since plastic is not affected by the salt water and also it is pollutant which it doesn't dissolve in earth for 40 to 50 years which terminates the growth of plants so instead of making earth pollutant by thronging it on the ground utilizing in this way may be better I think
